Polzeath
A little trip down memory lane with my sister
28 Aug 2008
For 10 years of my youth, I spent the first 2 weeks of my summer surfing in Polzeath - a small place on the North West Coast of Cornwall.
8 Years after my last visit, my sister and I decided to return to our childhood holiday venue for a couple of days of sea, surf, wind and sleep!
We arrived midday on Thursday and after dropping our stuff at a family friend's home, we hit the beach.
It's amazing how little had changed over the years. So we sat and ate lunch, where I probably last ate lunch there, and watched people on the beach.
After lunch was a quick walk before we braved the surf. I had not surfed for 8 years, so picked up the biggest and most boyant surfboard I could find.
The sea was packed with like-minded individuals, also attempting to surf. So packed that the sea was basically chaos. However, I managed to catch a few waves before my feet went numb and even succeeded to stand up.
After the trauma of the cold sea, it was hot chocolate time, then home for a roast dinner.
