Hi people =),

I´m starting to feel guilty because I started this journal last year, and I did a decent job keeping up with it all year. But now.... I kinda dropped the ball!

It´s 8:30 pm, or as all the clocks here say, 20:30 and I finished my work week just over an hour and a half ago. It´s a wondeful feeling....3 long days ahead of me to enjoy my Spanish life. AKA: going out with Oommy and others til the wee hours of the morning in Ovi, taking siestas, watching Spanish TV (or lots of American TV dubbed in Spanish), and going out for wine with my friends in Mieres. It´s a Wonderful Vida Asturiana.

My jobs are going well. My job at the high school is fun, and I spend all the time laughing at the students because they´re really hilarious. Did you all know that learning English is in fact really easy? All you have to do is take off the ´o´ or ´a´ from a Spanish word and add ´ation´ or just pronounce the word with a different accent. Examples of this that I have heard just this week are:

ventilador (fan) = ventilation
calefaccion (heater) = calefacation
estuche (pencil case) = estuch

And trust me there were many many more. I suppose that we weren´t too unique in high school learning Spanish when we added and ´o´ to any word and called it Spanish! Anyway, they keep me laughing =).

Okay....I have to go get ready for a night out in Oviedo.

p.s. "Fai un friu.." is Asturiano for "Hace un frio..." or "It´s so cold".....more or less. =)
